UAN Member Portal is useful to employees who are covered under EPF Scheme. Employees who are registered at EPFO Portal, are advised to visit UAN Portal and complete UAN Activation Process. Because UAN Based Online Services are available for those members who have already activated their UAN. Employees’ Provident Fund Organization has created UAN Member Portal for employees and UAN Employer Portal for employers. EPFO provides various online services relating to PF Account on UAN Member Portal.

Employees who work at more than one companies, are able to see their all PF Accounts details on UAN Member Portal. However, the employees can access only those PF Accounts which are linked with UAN earlier. UAN Member Portal has been launched with an aim to provide one unique number to every employee of India for lifetime. UAN Member Portal is one place where employees can manage multiple PF Accounts /Member IDs.

UAN is equally important to employers also as they have to pay Contribution to Provident Fund every month. On UAN Employer Portal, employers manage status of employees in establishment time to time i.e. employees joining, working and leaving the establishment/company. There are many other activities which employers need to use on UAN Employer Portal.

In order to enjoy facilities at UAN Member Portal, the members must login with their Universal Account Number and Password. On UAN Member Portal, employees can use following services:

Know Your EPF Balance

Employees can check their EPF Balance on UAN Member Portal. PF Account Balance is often changed because of monthly credits of employee’s & employer’s contribution as well as Interest on Provident Fund. Employees are eligible to know EPF Balance of all PF Accounts at UAN Member Portal.

View & Download EPF Passbook

Employees have to login to UAN Member Portal in order to see EPF Passbook. Employees can also download their EPF Passbook which includes all recent transactions happened in their PF Account. The UAN Member Portal always provides Updated EPF Passbook.

Download UAN Card

UAN Card is an important document and ID Card for an employee. Because UAN Card contains Universal Account Number and Member ID of employee. However, employees must note down that UAN Card will show only those Member IDs which have been linked with UAN earlier.

Update Your KYC Information

Know Your Customer (KYC) is a mandatory procedure for EPFO Members i.e. employees. Generally, KYC of employees is submitted by their employer. But, if the employer has not done KYC, then it becomes employee’s responsibility. After logging in to UAN Member Portal, Employees can easily update KYC information.

View Previous Member IDs

Employees who work with many companies/organizations, are allotted multiple Member IDs by EPFO. After UAN Activation Procedure is completed, employees can see their current Member ID as well as Previous Member IDs on UAN Member Portal.

File PF Transfer Claim

When employees changes their job from one organization to another, they need to transfer their PF Account. The procedure of Transfer of Provident Fund Account has become very easy with UAN Online Services. Now, employees can file PF Transfer Claim on UAN Member Portal.

View Status of PF Claim filed earlier

Employees can view Status of PF Transfer Claim at anytime on UAN Member Portal. PF Transfer Claim is filed by an employee when he/she leaves old job and moves to new one. It takes time for PF Transfer Claim to get approved because both old employer and new employer are involved in this process.

UAN Employer Portal

Employers are required to login to UAN Employer Portal with option of “Establishment Sign In” or “Employer Sign In”. On UAN Employer Portal, employers can use following services:

Add New Member to Establishment

When an employee joins the establishment, it is employer’s responsibility to add him/her on UAN Employer Portal. The newly employed person (employee) should be added to establishment by respective employer within certain period.

Remove a Member from Establishment

Employer should immediately remove a member from UAN Employer Portal after he/she leaves the job.

Generate New UAN and Member ID to Members under first time employment

When the employer adds a New Member to UAN Employer Portal, it is compulsory to mention whether it is first time employment. A new unique UAN Number and Member ID are generated for employees under first time employment, otherwise employer needs to provide their previous Member ID or existing UAN Number on UAN Employer Portal.

Provide New Member ID to employee already having UAN Number

Employees who already have UAN Number and join the establishment, should also be considered by employer in list of new members. In such cases, employer has to generate and provide only New Member ID to employees as they already possess UAN Number.

Upload /Update and Verify KYC Documents Information of employees (bulk upload option)

Employer can upload and update KYC information of employees on UAN Employer Portal. There are options of “Upload Bulk KYC Text File” and “Approve Bulk KYC PDF”, so that the employer may upload & update KYC information of multiple employees at a time.

Download UAN List of all employees

UAN Employer Portal provides option of Download UAN List in UAN section. The UAN List is very useful for employer as it contains Employee/Member’s Name, Member’s Father’s/Husband’s Name, UAN allotted, Current Member ID, Previous Member IDs which are linked with UAN etc.

ECR/Challan Submission and Payment of PF Contribution to EPFO

Employer is required to make payment of PF contribution by 15th of every month. By generating Electronic Challan cum Return (ECR), the employer can pay contribution towards EPF (Employees’ Provident Fund). The facility of online payment is available through Internet Banking of SBI and some other banks.

View PF Transfer Claim Requests

When an employee leaves job, he/she files Claim for PF Transfer on UAN Member Portal. Employer can view such claims when login to UAN Employer Portal.

Check, Verify, Correct and Approve PF Claims

Employer is required to check and verify the details provided by employee(s) in PF Transfer Claim. If there is any mistake found, employer should correct it and then approve PF Transfer Claim to relevant employees. The new employer will be able to access necessary details of Employee’s Provident Fund Account only after the Transfer Claim is approved by old employer.
